Simple Business Manager — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
Simple Business Manager (shown on your device as Business Manager) is a business-record organizer for iPhone and iPad developed by McKittrick LLC, doing business as McKittrick Studios. The app has no accounts, advertising, analytics, or tracking, and we do not receive your business library. This policy distinguishes information you keep in the app from optional Apple services, Apple purchases, information you choose to share, support email, and this website.
Your business library
Information you enter or import, such as business profiles, projects, contact and resource details, dates, notes, logos, documents, and receipts, is stored in an encrypted library on your device. The encryption key is kept in this device’s Keychain and does not leave it. The app does not link to your bank accounts or send your business library to a McKittrick-hosted database.
Because the key stays on the device, it may not transfer to a replacement device set up from a device backup. If the app cannot read the existing library, it explains why and offers to start with an empty library, keeping the unreadable copy in place. Use iCloud sync or an export if you need a recovery copy.
App Lock is an optional setting that asks for Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode before showing the app. Apple handles that authentication; the app does not receive your biometric data or passcode. App Lock is not a separate backup password.
You can edit or delete records in the app. Deleting a record does not delete copies you previously exported, shared, or saved elsewhere.
Optional iCloud sync
If you turn on Sync with iCloud, the app sends an encrypted copy of your entire business library, including documents and receipts, to Apple’s private CloudKit database associated with your iCloud account. The sync key is stored in iCloud Keychain so your other devices can read the library. McKittrick LLC does not receive your business records through this sync. Apple processes iCloud account and service information under Apple’s privacy policy.
Sync runs while the app is open; it does not promise immediate delivery between devices, background backup, or recovery in every account or device-loss scenario. If edits conflict or the iCloud copy cannot be read, sync stops without replacing either copy. Settings then lets you choose to use the iCloud copy on this device or replace the iCloud copy with this device; each choice asks for confirmation and offers to export the library first. You can turn sync off in Settings and manage iCloud data through Apple’s settings. Turning sync off does not delete the iCloud copy or any exported files.
Imports, reminders, and sharing
When you choose a photo or file, scan a document, open a file in the app from another app, or review extracted text, the app processes that material on your device and adds it to your library only through the app’s save flow. Camera, Photos, Files, and notification access depend on the features you use and your device settings.
Reminders are optional. The app asks for notification permission when you first turn one on, and schedules reminders on your device through Apple’s notification system. Notification text is generic, such as “Open Business Manager to review an upcoming item,” and does not include your business details.
Export business library in Settings creates an unencrypted file containing the entire library, including EINs, documents, and logos; anyone with that file can read it. Import business library replaces the library on that device with an export and never sends it to us. You control the destination, recipients, and protection of files you export or share with other apps. We cannot delete copies held by other apps, recipients, or storage providers. Do not store passwords, full payment-card details, or security codes in the app.
Purchases through Apple
Business Manager Pro is an optional one-time purchase that removes the free version’s limits on businesses, documents, and projects. Apple handles App Store payments and purchase restoration. The app uses Apple’s StoreKit purchase information to determine your Pro access and remembers the result on your device so Pro features are available right away; it is updated when Apple confirms, restores, or revokes the purchase. We do not receive your payment card details through the app. Apple handles its account, billing, and payment information under Apple’s privacy policy.
No advertising, analytics, or tracking
The iOS app does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking SDKs, and we do not collect data from the app. This statement is about the app, not this website or Apple services. If those app integrations change, this policy will be updated.
Children
The app is intended for business owners and is not directed to children.
Support and information you send us
If you email support, we and the email services handling your message receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond and troubleshoot. Please do not send passwords, EINs, account numbers, business-library exports, or unredacted sensitive documents and screenshots. For questions or requests about support information you sent us, contact privacy@mckittrick.co. Support email is separate from the app’s local library and your iCloud account.
This website
The McKittrick Studios website is hosted on Vercel and uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to measure website visits and performance. Website requests and measurement can involve the page visited, referring site, browser or device information, and performance measurements. This website measurement is separate from the app’s business library.
See Vercel Web Analytics privacy information and Vercel’s privacy policy for hosting and measurement practices. External services and destinations have their own privacy practices.
